But this argumentum ad nauseam can't and won't win this debate for them, because they've given us no justification for their bald assertions!' Argumentum ad numerum (argument or appeal to numbers). This fallacy is the attempt to prove something by showing how many people think that it's true. Jan 27, 2010 Currently Taking altered art Comissions. JW if there's already a subreddit on Ad Naus floating around that I haven't come across, and if not, whether there'd be any interest in having one.
I feel like there are a sort-of-ok amount of primers out there, with varying degrees of accuracy and usefulness and a real dearth of consolidated and up-to-date info on tech, sideboard, matchups, etc. (the mtgsalvation thread is ok, but it's kind of stream of consciousness and not really organized topically).
Some topics that might be helpful off the top of my head:
- Utility lands - yes, no, which ones, SB or MD, why? (e.g., Boseiju, Nephalia Academy, Mikokoro, and Tolaria West have all seen some amount of play between builds and there are plenty of builds that run none).
- Death's Shadow tech (e.g., Godhead of Awe, Lingering Souls, others?)
- Whole host of issues on sideboarding - fogs vs spot removal vs sweepers; what type of spot removal (e.g., push v. path v. pact); fatties vs no fatties and why; sideboard guide that maybe consolidate some of the underlying rationale and applicability of various options (I know that's vague, but there's a fairly wide range of possible AN SBs once you get beyond 4x leyline).
- Discussion on the various innovations with the MD - for example, I haven't really seen any recent in-depth discussion on glittering AN and it's unclear if it's because those pilots decided it wasn't as good as the standard build or if people just stopped talking about it.
- Tournament reports and testing always helpful/welcome to gauge how the deck is handling shifting meta (e.g., assessing how AN functions in the current meta with the rise of death's shadow (pretty bad MU) but then subsequent rise of death's shadow predators that are pretty good MUs for the deck.
Anyways, just wanted to throw this out there to see if there's any interest / if a sub already exists that I'm just struggling to find.

Ad nauseam is a Latin term for argument or other discussion that has continued to the point of nausea.[1][2] For example, 'this has been discussed ad nauseam' indicates that the topic has been discussed extensively and those involved have grown sick of it. The fallacy is also called argumentum ad infinitum (to infinity), and argument from repetition.[3]
Applicability[edit]
The term is defined by the American Heritage Dictionary as an argument made repeatedly 'until nobody cares to discuss it any more'.[3][failed verification]
